Similar to non-entry-level aerial drones such as Mavic 2, Inspire 2, DJI generally provides a custom adjustment function for aircraft sensitivity. Many people have speculated that the wind resistance of Mavic Mini is not good. Since the Mavic Mini has a wheelbase of 231 mm and the algorithm base accumulated by DJI over the years, the flight stability of the Mavic Mini should pass the test.

To tell the truth, a 249-gram small airplane cannot be very wind-resistant, so Aifaner recommends that everyone fly in stable weather and avoid unnecessary high-altitude flying and flying between buildings as much as possible.
Fourth, the most questioned configuration of Mavic Mini-WiFi image transmission.
Today’s WiFi image transmission is much stronger than the Wi-Fi image transmission of the Wizard 2 era under the strong training strength of the DJI R&D team, so I insist that WiFi image transmission is not good, just like saying that smart phones are not suitable for taking pictures. .
Moreover, the cost of WiFi image transmission is relatively low. If WiFi image transmission is not used, Mavic Mini will not sink to the ultra-low price of 2,699 yuan.
So, how about the WiFi image transmission of Mavic Mini?
Although it is the same “enhanced WiFi image transmission”, it seems to be slightly different from Mavic Air. It is a bit difficult to support it to fly high and far away in the urban environment with complex signals, and this is not recommended. Moreover, the speed of downloading image files when flying at high altitude is obviously much slower than when the ground is stationary, which shows that its performance is still reduced according to price positioning.
But among all the WiFi image transmissions I have experienced, the performance of Mavic Mini’s image transmission is relatively high. On the bank of the river south of Guangzhou University Town, I flew as far as 729 meters.
Before the freeze, the frame rate and delay of the image transmission screen will not hinder normal flight and shooting. It is worth noting that the Mavic Mini mobile phone is connected to the remote control through the Micro USB interface, instead of connecting the remote control through WiFi like Spark does, the connection stability is better.
According to these results, the speed and stability of the Mavic Mini’s image transmission are sufficient to meet the needs of daily travel photography in an open environment. In a complex signal environment, it is also sufficient as long as it does not fly far.
To sum up, Mavic Mini is a relatively easy-to-use aerial drone:
It abandons the function that seems to be suitable for novices on Spark, but actually reduces the control experience, and returns to the simplest and most intuitive remote control operation;

DJI did not simply streamline the functions on the Mavic 2 and Mavic Air and then transfer them to the Mavic Mini, but actually refer to the needs of novices and formulate the performance of the Mavic Mini under a reasonable cost limit. Configuration.

Shooting: Slightly exceeded expectations, slightly regrettable
Faced with the small 1/2.3 inch CMOS on the Mavic Mini, I believe that no one will have high expectations for its picture quality. In fact, it is true.
As for the lens, the Mavic Mini is equipped with a wide-angle pan-focus lens with an equivalent focal length of 24mm, which can achieve focus from the nearest 1 meter to infinity, so the focus function is naturally omitted.
From the actual picture performance, the sharpness and anti-glare ability of this small lens are not bad, coupled with the decent latitude and white balance of CMOS, and automatic light metering, there is no pressure in the environment with sufficient light. In the night scene shooting, thanks to the addition of a three-axis mechanical gimbal, Mavic Mini can even hold a shutter speed of up to 4 seconds, which is convenient for us to reduce the ISO as much as possible to avoid the impact of high ISO on image quality. So, where is “regret” reflected?
First, Mavic Mini does not support shooting in RAW format, which limits post-processing space.
Secondly, Mavic Mini does not support manual video exposure. Although the picture quality of its video shooting is good, the lack of manual exposure function will cause many video clips to be unable to guarantee stable exposure and affect the look and feel of the work.
I can understand that perhaps many users who buy Mavic Mini do not particularly rely on the RAW format and manual video exposure. Mavic Mini also needs some lack of features to clarify its entry-level product positioning, but the lack of these two features is undoubtedly also It limits the growth space for some novices, and at the same time discourages photography enthusiasts who are interested in buying a cheap drone to supplement the seats.
The photography ability of Mavic Mini is enough to shoot 60-point pass works. If you know some editing and color correction techniques, you can even take the video quality to a higher level. But its limitation is that if you want to shoot better and prepare for more post-production space, then Mavic Mini is beyond reach.
DJI Fly: A must-use trick for novices
DJI Fly is an app launched in conjunction with Mavic Mini. It retains the basic functions such as video editor, Sky City, personal center, and manual that other consumer apps have in DJI. Although it looks very streamlined, DJI GO There are several major functions on 4, in fact, DJI Fly also has a lot of them.
